
HSE Students Come Up with a House of the Future
Perhaps, in the not-so-distant future, people will be living in skyscrapers made of wood and concrete with a farm on the first floor and solar panels on the roof. Such a model of a future residential block was presented by the students of the master's programme ‘Prototyping Future Cities’. To create the model, they studied houses in Moscow that have been built over the past hundred years and analyzed international experience. Their model was presented at the Moscow Urban Forum in July and, on September 13 (HSE Day), it will be possible to see it again at Gorky Park.

Having fallen in love with Moscow and the Russian culture during an exchange programme three years ago at HSE, Alis Maria Endres, a native of Germany, decided that she wanted to return to the university to complete a Master’s degree in management. In order to be able to study in Russian, Alis Maria first enrolled in HSE's International Preparatory Year programme.

Political Analysis and Public Policy Programme Leads to Exciting International Career
After graduating two years ago from HSE’s Master’s programme in Political Analysis and Public Policy, Svetlana Kosmakova took a job with the International Committee of the Red Cross as a Migration Program Officer. HSE’s Master's Programmes in Business and Management Enter Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking
The following Master’s programmes offered at HSE’s Faculty of Business and Management have entered the Eduniversal Best Masters Ranking in 2017-18 in the Eastern European region: ‘Project Management: Project Analysis, Investments, and Implementation Technologies’, ‘Marketing Communications and Advertising in the Contemporary Business’, ‘Business Strategies: Management and Consulting' and ‘Human Resource Management’. For the first time, the world-wide ranking included the master's programme ‘Experience Economy: Hospitality Management and Tourism’. The global ranking also includes the programmes ‘Big Data Systems’ and ‘E-Business’.

The HSE Master's programme ‘System and Software engineering’ deals with the development of such innovations. 2018 graduate, Alexandra Gureeva, talks about her project focusing on electronic medical records and which has already been tested at a Moscow clinic.
Graduation Ceremony for the Double-degree Master’s Programme in Big Data Systems
On June 29, the third graduation ceremony for the double-degree Master’s programme in Big Data Systems (HSE, Russia) and Information Systems Management (UAS Technikum Wien, Austria) was hosted at the Austrian Ambassador’s Residence in Moscow. Dr. Hartmut Koller-Lenhardt, Chancellor at the Embassy of Austria in Moscow, gave the opening address. He congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of the programme and stressed the importance of cooperation between the universities in regards to cultural and professional communication and connections.
From Peru to Moscow: Joint HSE-Skoltech Programme Attracts Students from Afar
Attracted by the famous mathematical education in Russia, Alfredo Alejandro De la Fuente Briceño decided to travel halfway around the world to enrol in HSE’s Master’s Programme in Statistical Learning Theory, a new joint programme between HSE and Skoltech aimed at training the next generation of scientists to carry out fundamental research and work on challenging new problems in statistical learning theory. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at the National University of Engineering in Lima, Peru, the 25-year-old was encouraged by several professors and friends to try a programme in a different language and tradition and step outside his comfort zone.
Students to Develop Algorithms for the Computers of the Future
This year, the new Master's programme ‘Supercomputer Simulations in Science and Engineering’ will be launched at MIEM HSE. Graduates will be experts in the interdisciplinary field of computer technology, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
New Double Degree Programme with Seoul National University
HSE ISSEK and the College of Engineering at Seoul National University have signed an agreement for a double degree programme which involves the HSE’s Master Programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation and the ‘Technology Management Economics and Policy’ (TEMEP) at the College of Engineering of Seoul National University.
