HSE Alumni Ambassadors Unite the World
HSE graduates work in dozens of countries, and to this end, the university has founded the HSE Alumni Ambassador project to unite them in a single network. HSE Ambassadors bring together local communities, organize business and informal events with HSE graduates, and provide advice to prospective students.
HSE Professor’s Biography on Stalin Wins PROSE Award
The book Stalin: New Biography of a Dictator by Oleg Khlevniuk has won the 2016 PROSE Award in the Biography and Autobiography category. Khlevniuk is a Leading Research Fellow in the HSE International Centre for the History and Sociology of World War II and Its Consequences.

How dangerous is the ‘beaten track’ effect in discussions on Russia’s science and technology (S&T) development? Young Academics Meet Henry Kissinger in Seminar at HSE
On 5th February, American diplomat and political scientist Henry Kissinger visited the HSE Faculty of World Economics and International Affairs. On Kissinger’s initiative the meeting was organised as a seminar for a dozen or so of the brightest young academics at HSE, MGIMO and RAS institutes. The best master’s students were also invited. The event was chaired by Sergey Karaganov, Dean of the Faculty.
International Professor Inspired by Passion for Learning at HSE Perm

On 10th February the exhibition of light installations, holograms and OptoClones®, ‘Magic of Light’ organised by ITMO University, St Petersburg and the Hellenic Institute of Holography opened to the public at the Saltykov-Chertkov mansion on Myasnitskaya Ulitsa. HSE has contributed some of the works in the exhibition.

HSE Students Won Russian Jessup
On February 7, 2016, the national finals of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious law competitions for students, took place in Moscow. The HSE Faculty of Law team took first place.
HSE Professor Awarded Presidential Prize for Young Scientists
The Kremlin has announced the laureates of its prestigious 2015 Presidential Prize for Young Scientists, and one of the three recipients was none other than Vladimir Stegailov, a Professor in HSE’s School of Applied Mathematics, which is a division of the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE).
HSE’s Laboratory for Anti-сorruption Policy Climbs in Global Think Tank Index
The Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania published its annual Global Go To Think Tank Index 2015. The index authors have been included the HSE laboratory in the list of Top Transparency and Good Governance Think Tanks for the second year in a row.
