Summer University Students Learn Russian
This summer, over 100 international students attended the Summer University at HSE. Of all the courses offered by the programme, Russian as a foreign language is especially popular, with more than 50 students enrolling. Researchers from Various Countries to Collaborate on Eradicating Educational Inequality
The HSE Institute of Education has become a founding partner of the Institute for Global Educational Opportunity, an association of universities and research centres that study educational inequality. Representatives from Russia, the U.S., Germany, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Chili gathered in Washington to reach an agreement on joint annual conferences, publications, and research.
HSE Student Designs Packaging for Toothpaste
Packaging of the World, a popular online resource for designers and marketing professions, has published a packaging design for Smilex12+ toothpaste developed by Anna Kosheleva, a third year student at HSE’s Art and Design School. Her work was overseen by Alexandra Kuznetsova, the school’s Academic Supervisor of Bachelor's programme in Design.
Why Russia is Passive in the WTO Court
In terms of activity in lodging complaints with the WTO Court (the agency through which WTO members resolve their disputes), Russia has not advanced beyond South Africa. The United States and EU countries are currently the leaders in terms of WTO disputes. The low level of activity on Russia’s side is primarily due to its relatively recent membership in the organization.
HSE Launches Joint Double Degree Master’s Programme with Paris-Sorbonne
The Higher School of Economics (HSE) has signed an agreement on establishing a joint double degree master’s programme with the University of Paris-IV (Sorbonne) in partnership with the French University College in Moscow. The agreement is applicable to following master's programmes: Philosophical Anthropology, Historical Knowledge, History of Artistic Culture and the Art Market, and Philosophy and History of Religion.

Russia's Top Innovation-driven Regions Announced
Russian regions differ significantly in terms of their attitude to innovation, according to a new release of the Russian Regional Innovational Development Ranking prepared by the HSE's experts. Thus, almost one-third of all industrial companies in Chuvashia have implemented innovative technology, while more than half of all manufactured goods in Sakhalin Region are products of innovation; in contrast, little innovative activity is observed in most territories of the North Caucasus.
HSE Students Get Gold, Silver and Bronze in International Mathematical Competition
HSE’s team has won four gold, one silver and one bronze medal at the International Mathematical Competition for University Students (IMС 2016), the most representative mathematics contest for university students. The team included students from the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Mathematics.
