The Twelfth International Academic Conference ‘Foresight and Science, Technology and Innovation Policy’ is kicking off at HSE University on November 22. Alexander Sokolov, chair of the organising committee, talked to the HSE News Service about the evolution of the foresight agenda. Two of the conference speakers, Ibon Zugasti from Spain and Mlungisi Cele from South Africa, shared some highlights of their research.
HSE Master of Data Science Programme Is among Finalists of Digital Learning 2022
The HSE's Master of Data Science programme reached the final of the Digital Learning 2022 Award in the online programmes category, as well as winning the audience award. HSE was the only university to reach the final. Nominees from the world of business competed side by side with the first English-language master's programme in Russia implemented entirely online.

A project about mental health, which includes the podcast ‘Vse OK’ (‘It’s OK’) and the Telegram channel ‘Zdes o sebe’ (‘About yourself’), has been nominated in the 13th International InterComm Awards in the field of corporate communications, 2022. The science and education project ‘Dlya Ponimaniya’ (‘For Understanding’) aggregating the materials of HSE Daily and IQ.HSE on the Zen, Odnoklassniki and Telegram platforms has been submitted for the ‘Znanie’ (‘Knowledge’) award. ‘The Digital Industry Needs Capable Management’
Ayagoz Musabaeva, who holds a master’s degree from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, has successfully applied her research skills to business. After working in the laboratory of the specialised Institute for Information Transmission Problems (IITP) at the HSE Faculty of Mathematics, she went to work in the industry and is now conducting research in machine learning at Akvelon, an international company. Three HSE Researchers Receive Ilya Segalovich Award
Three researchers of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science are among the winners of the 2022 Ilya Segalovich Award: Research Professor Dmitry Vetrov, Associate Professor Alexey Naumov and doctoral student Sergey Samsonov. The award, established by Yandex in 2019, is aimed at supporting young researchers and the scientific community in the field of IT in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
HSE University Launches Linguatest, a Domestic Foreign-Language Testing System
Linguatest is available in two versions: academic and business. It can be taken in person at dedicated centres or online in proctored sessions. Registration in now open for the first exam sessions in Moscow in December 2022.

Fall into ML: Autumn School and Conference on Machine Learning Held at HSE University
On November 1st-3rd, 2022 the International Laboratory of Stochastic Algorithms and High-Dimensional Inference of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and the Laboratory of Methods for Big Data Analysis with the support of HSE AI Centre and the Russian Science Foundation organized the first autumn school and conference on artificial intelligence ‘Fall into ML’. The new format of the event included a school for students and young researchers.
