School Graduates Influenced by Classmates' Grades in Choosing Careers
In choosing a field for further studies, high school students are influenced by their peers, among other factors. For example, a high school student interested in technology among a class of peers who are not so good at physics may perceive it as a competitive advantage, increasing the likelihood of their choice of a technical field for a career, according to Andrey Zakharov , Deputy Head of the International Laboratory for Education Policy Analysis at the HSE's Graduate School of Education, and Elizaveta Chernenko , Research Fellow of the same laboratory.

Two Days — Three Startup Winners
A voice navigator for the visually impaired, English language learning games, teaching computer programming to children are the results of two days intensive work by young people at Hackathon (forum for developing software), Hack for People at the HSE Centre for Prototype Development. The participants had just 48 hours to formulate the concept for a project, write a strategy to promote and create it or fine-tune a prototype.
HSE Design School Students Win the Skolkovo Hackathon
A team of first and second year students on the Communication Design and Animation course, backed by senior Web Design students, has won the three-day hackathon Robodesign at Skolkovo. They produced the best results in the Graphic Interface TRIK Studio and Artistic model making categories.

Russian and American Students Research Legal Problems Together
On the 17th March 2015, 10 students from the University of Iowa, School of Law arrived in Moscow to take part in a research project with 2nd and 3rd year undergraduates at the HSE Faculty of Law. The aim of this international project is tocompare legal interpretation of the same problems in Russia and the USA. In April, Russian students will go to America to finalize and present their joint projects.
HSE Team Wins Russian Stage of CFA Institute Research Challenge 2014-2015
The final local stage of the annual student financial analysis competition CFA Institute Research Challenge 2014-2015 took place at Moscow Exchange on March 10. Four teams competed in the Russian finals: MSU, HSE, NES and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
