The New RSCI List Now Includes 887 Journals
The Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) quality assessment and journal selection working group based on Web of Science has completed its updates to the RSCI list. The group particularly considered journals that submitted 219 initiative applications last year. The updated list includes 87 new journals, with 2 journals having been excluded.
For each specific journal, a full set of over 50 bibliometric indicators and statistics over the last four years was calculated and analysed according to RSCI and the RSCI core (Web of Science, Scopus and RSCI). The journals were ranked according to their bibliometric data and the results of a public expert review by scholars who have the highest citation indices and h-number in each subject area (over 20,000 participants).
The updated RSCI list includes 87 new journals that submitted their initiative applications, while two journals were excluded from the list for repeated violation of RSCI regulations. These journals were given the opportunity to correct their violations before December 1, 2021, otherwise they will be excluded from RSCI database.
In accordance with RSCI regulations, submission of initiative applications will be open from July 1 to October 15. The working group and subject area expert councils will begin considering applications on November 1.
