HSE Continues its Ascent in QS World University Rankings by Subject
The latest results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject demonstrate that Russian universities are continuing to make great strides in international rankings. Among the Russian universities that made the rankings, HSE tops the list with 16 specific subjects and 3 broad subject areas entering the rankings. Compared to last year, HSE has improved its performance in almost all subjects.

Stefan Hanssen, a native of Switzerland, is currently a second-year student in HSE’s Master’s Programme 'Financial Analyst (CFA Institute University Affiliation Program)' offered by the HSE Banking Institute. Master's Programme in Finance at HSE-St. Petersburg Receives EPAS Accreditation
The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), one of the world's largest professional associations in the field of business and management, has awarded the Master’s Programme ‘Finance’ at the HSE in St. Petersburg an accreditation for a period of three years. This is the first Master’s programme in Russia to be accredited by the EFMD.
Researchers Identify Possible Role of Foxp1 Protein in Control of Autoimmune Diseases
Scientists at the Higher School of Economics, the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBCh RAS), and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center created a genetic model that helps to understand how the body restrains autoimmune and oncological diseases. The researchers published their results in Nature Immunology.
HSE Marks 5th Year of Teaching on Coursera
On February 24, 2014, HSE launched its first course on the Coursera online education platform. Along with St. Petersburg State University and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, HSE was one of the first Russian universities to host a course on the platform. Now HSE ranks among the top ten universities with the highest number of courses available on the platform, offering 91 courses which have garnered 1.6 million subscriptions.
