The HSE Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) and Yandex held the Online Final of the IDAO-2020 International Data Analysis Olympiad, which took place for the third time. The task for the final round was provided by QIWI, the platinum partner of the event. Sberbank also became a competition partner.

Today, we need a coordinated agenda in order to understand how to develop a comfortable and safe technological environment and make the consequences of rapid technological development forecastable and manageable. This is what HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov said at the National Academic Online Conference ‘Ethical and Legal Issues of Digital Transformation: From Conflict to Harmony?’

How can we achieve balanced growth of the global economy? What is a human-centred approach for economic growth? How can we measure the contribution of corporations to sustainable development? On December 1- 2, visionaries of sustainable development — more than 50 international experts from 23 countries, including representatives of government organizations and businesses, non-profit organizations, and civil society activists — will answer these questions at the Global Impact Conference.

End-of-term exams have just finished in many universities operating on the modular system. Some students passed because they worked hard while others passed by cheating. Why do some students cheat by looking over someone's shoulder, furtively searching for test answers on the internet, using cheat sheets during exams or paying others to complete their coursework? A study conducted by the HSE Centre for Sociology of Higher Education offers some answers.

Openness, friendliness, tenacity, motivation, risk-taking, self-control and other non-cognitive components of human capital can be important determinants of earnings. And parental investment in their children’s non-cognitive skills affects their future academic and career success. He came to Moscow from Baku, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Jurisprudence at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Jointly organized by HSE University and Coursera, the international eLearning Stakeholders and Researchers Summit (eSTARS 2020) will be held from December 1 – 2, 2020. It will be the third time the organizers bring together international stakeholders from governments, the academic community, busines, as well as researchers and experts to discuss the present and future of online education.
