HSE Graduate School of Business Wins ESG Excellence Award
The HSE Graduate School of Business won the ‘Best Project/Programme for Engaging Youth in Positive Change’ category in the ESG Excellence Award. This award is given annually to recognise achievements in the fields of sustainable development and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for their significant social impact. Among the award winners and nominees are major Russian companies and organisations that are recognised as leaders in the ESG agenda and make a substantial contribution to the sustainable development of Russia's economy and society.
HSE’s project, which aims to prepare globally competitive and socially responsible business leaders for the digital economy with professional competencies in sustainable development and ESG, received well-deserved recognition from the award jury. The project was implemented in collaboration with representatives from academic, professional, and business communities. International partners include PRME and the NBS Sustainability Centres Community, while local partners feature the National ESG Alliance, SberBank, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Central Bank of Russia, Polyus, Norilsk Nickel, RUSAL, SIBUR, Rosatom, X5 Group, KEPT, E+Change, YouSocial, and other key Russian businesses.
Main project goals include:
- Developing innovative academic courses covering key aspects of sustainable development, ESG, and digital technologies, along with creating a modern educational framework focused on problem-based learning;
- Implementing project-based learning through applied projects from professional and business community clients, organising internships and placements at companies integrating sustainable development and ESG principles into their activities;
- Promoting a culture of responsible behaviour and management within the HSE Graduate School of Business to foster leadership qualities and managerial skills among students and graduates, aimed at driving cultural and social change;
- Conducting applied scientific research in the fields of sustainable development and ESG to identify the best practices and new approaches, engaging students and graduates in the process.

Representatives of world universities discussed how to train future decision-making leaders in the concepts of sustainable development and make education more practice-oriented at the session ‘At the Frontier of Progress: Universities as a Key Element in Achieving SDGs’ in the framework of International Partners’ Week at HSE University.
HSE University and Bank of Russia Hold First Russian School on Sustainable Development in Finance
The HSE University Graduate School of Business (GSB) has hosted the Autumn School in ESG Transformation of the Finance Sector. A total of 70 students from Russian universities passed the competitive selection process to take part. The four-day programme was devised and developed by the Central Bank of Russia. The speakers included top managers and regulatory specialists, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, VTB, Sber, Sibur, Gazprombank, Rosatom, Nornikel, VEB.RF, Rusal, and experts from HSE University.
HSE University and Central Bank of Russia to Hold Autumn School in ESG
The HSE Graduate School of Business (GSB) and the Central Bank of Russia are launching the competitive selection of participants for a partner project: the Autumn School in ESG Transformation of the Finance Sector.
