HSE has Held its Position in the QS World University Rankings
The Higher School of Economics has held its position in the QS World University Rankings in the 500-550 group. A Russian version of the ranking system was presented by RIA Novosti on the 10th September 2013.
The QS rankings are based on the criteria of a university’s reputation in the academic community, citations of its publications, teacher student ratios, employers’ attitudes to graduates and the relative numbers of international staff and students.
The other Russian HEIs in the rankings (there are 18 of them altogether) also mostly held their positions from last year. Only Moscow State University got into the list of the top 200 universities in the world. The compilers of the rankings believe that to improve ratings, universities need to stimulate citation rates of their publications and to cultivate cooperation with employers.
