Force Majeure choir awarded Chart Dozen prize
Participants of HSE’s choir Force Majeure and their coach Svetlana Sandrakova have been awarded the national music award Chart Dozen (Chartova Duzhina) in the Concert of the Year category for participating in the Sniper Choir. The choir accompanied a performance by the group Night Snipers and its soloist Diana Arbenina at the 2014 Nashestvie rock festival. The award ceremony took place on February 13 at Crocus City Hall.
‘This was the fourth time Force Majeure participants had performed with the Sniper Choir. In the choir, we sing together with student choirs from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Moscow State Pedagogical University, as well as with fans of the group Night Snipers. It takes us four or five practice sessions to prepare for Sniper Choir performances,’ the director of HSE’s choir and the choirmaster of the Sniper choir, Svetlana Sandrakova, notes.
The Sniper Choir was created in the fall of 2013 out of 104 fans of the group who made it through test sessions. In the summer of 2014, the Sniper choir took part in an hour and a half long set by Night Snipers, who headlined the second day of Russia’s largest rock festival Nashestvie.
