‘There’s no point in sending a girl to a maths school—unless it’s to find a smart husband.’ This is just one stereotype that must be combatted, explained Alexandra Skripchenko, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Mathematics, in a discussion held as part of Forbes Woman Day—an international forum on gender equality in business, politics, and society. Participants of the forum discussed the changing role of women in science, a field that still suffers from gender discrimination.

Its educational content is close to the practice-oriented on-site HSE master’s programme in Corporate Finance. ‘A Place in the Sun’: Youth Policy Forum to Take Place at HSE Campus in Perm
HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin have agreed to organize an annual forum for experts, young professionals, university representatives and employers. Its goal is to develop solutions in career guidance and self-fulfilment for young professionals. The agreement was reached as part of the university administration’s official visit to Perm.
Nikita Anisimov: Mathematical Education Needs a New Direction to Meet the Requirements of the Digital Era
The All-Russian Congress of Mathematics Teachers opened on August 15 at the Sirius Educational Centre. Top leaders from HSE University, Moscow State University, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and other universities; scholars and teachers; as well as representatives from government agencies took part in the venue. HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov noted the branches of mathematics that he believes need to be given greater priority in the high school curriculum. Mr. Anisimov also spoke about the initiatives HSE University is taking to transform mathematics education.
