HSE Online Wins Innovation Time Award for the Second Year in a Row
HSE Online has won the 'Breakthrough of the Year' category in the Innovation Time Awards. Since 2011, these awards have recognised the best projects and practices pushing forward innovation in various fields. As part of the business programme forum, HSE Online shared how to grow from producing online courses to a whole online campus in the metaverse in just 10 years.
HSE University Becomes Winner of International Eventiada Awards
Gleb Gorshenin, student of the School of Communication of the HSE Faculty of Creative Industries, was named Student of the Year. The ‘Notes of a Communicat’ adaptation guide for first-year students of the School of Communication was recognised as the best youth advertising project. And the opening of the HSE Online campus received an award for the best project for a young target audience.

At the AI Journey 2023 international conference in Moscow, a ranking of Russian universities that train the best AI specialists was published. HSE University entered the A+ leadership group, taking first place according to such criteria as ‘Demand for hiring graduates’, ‘Quality of educational environment’, and ‘Activities for the development of school education’. Ivan Arzhantsev, Dean of HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science, spoke to the HSE News Service about how AI specialists are trained at HSE University and what plans the university has in this area.

Staff members of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science will present 12 of their works at the 37th Conference and Workshop on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS), one of the most significant events in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. HSE University Students Win in the AIJ Science Competition at AI Journey 2023
The International Sber Conference of Artificial Intelligence, ‘AI Journey 2023’ recently took place in Moscow. Alexander Rogachev, doctoral student of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, and Egor Egorov, an HSE 4th-year undergraduate student became the winners of the AIJ Science competition for scientific articles on artificial intelligence that was held as part of the event. The research was carried out under the umbrella of the HSE's Laboratory of Methods for Big Data Analysis (LAMBDA).

Valery Kalyagin, Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Tenured Professor at HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod, has been named a laureate of the national ‘Professor of the Year’ award in the Central Federal District.
Master's Programme in 'Data Science' Accredited by AI Alliance Russia
Based on the assessment results, the programme's strengths were identified as its broad coverage of educational disciplines, in-depth exploration of theoretical aspects in machine learning, the quality of staff, and the involvement of potential employers. This is the fifth educational programme at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science to receive this prestigious professional and public accreditation.
HSE University Holds HSE Sber ML Hack
On November 17-19, The HSE Faculty of Computer Science, SBER and cloud technology provider Cloud.ru organised HSE Sber ML Hack, a hackathon based around machine learning. More than 350 undergraduate and graduate students from 54 leading Russian universities took part in the competition.

Students of HSE Faculty of Computer Science Win True Tech Champ by MTS
The final of the True Tech Champ Programming Olympiad from MTS took place at the end of October. Twelve students emerged as victors from the competition, including two second-year master’s students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, Ivan Safonov and Maxim Gorokhovsky.
