A new issue of the "Foresight-Russia" journal is out of print. The issue contains two articles prepared by experts from Italia and the US respectively who share best practice of evaluating and enhancing innovation performance at regional level. A Microsoft representative considers ethical aspects of the widespread penetration of ICT. Therewith the journal presents a revised macroeconomic forecast for Russia and reviews key events held by ISSEK in the framework of the XIV HSE April International Academic Conference.

Thе conference Studying Institutions and Development in Russia: new Data and New Approaches ( HSE, June 26-27, 2013 Moscow) presentы cutting edge research in the field of political economy. Drawing in large part on the work of the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) at the Higher School of Economics in 2011-2013, it focuses on the regional dimension of institutions and economic development. Byung-Yeon Kim, Professor in the Department of Economics at the  Seoul National University gave a special interview for HSE news service.

On June 26, 2013, a conference ‘Studying Institutions and Development in Russia: New Data and New Approaches’ began at the HSE. Andrey Yakovlev, Director of the HSE Institute for Industrial and Market Studies, told us about the aims and purpose of the conference.

From June 23-26, 2013, a delegation from the Singapore Business Federation visited the Higher School of Economics (the HSE) as part of a special business tour. Its organizers, Andrey Yakovlev, Director of the HSE Institute for Industrial and Market Studies, and Vasily Solodkov, Director of the HSE Banking Institute, as well as a participant told us about the event.

On June 24, 2013, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), represented by ICEF Project Director from the LSE Richard Jackman, and the HSE, represented by First Vice Rector Vadim Radaev, signed an agreement on the activities and development of the HSE’s International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) for the next four-year period. Sergey Yakovlev, Director of the ICEF, told us about this cooperation.

Shulman Professor of Post-Soviet Foreign Policy, Department of Political Science and Harriman Institute of Columbia University, USA and Director of Center for the Study of Institutions and Development, HSE, Russia gave a special interview to HSE news service prior the conference.

Кen Jimbo, Professor at the Keio University (Japan), spoke on ‘2030 Strategic Trends in Asia-Pacific: Implication for Japan-Russia Relations’ at a roundtable discussion at the HSE. The event has been organized by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.

Alexey Barabashev, Academic Supervisor of the HSE Faculty of Public Administration, who has recently returned from an internship at the Woodrow Wilson international research center (USA), spoke to us about the HSE’s cooperation with the organization.
