HSE Signs Cooperation Agreement with WorldSkills Russia
The Higher School of Economics and WorldSkills Russia have agreed to join forces to develop professional competencies and implement international best practices into the vocational education system.
The corresponding agreement was signed during the finals of the Young Professionals National Championship (WorldSkills Russia) in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The signatories were Robert Urazov, the General Director of the Young Professionals Union (WorldSkills Russia), and Isak Froumin, the Academic Supervisor of the HSE Institute of Education.
WorldSkills Russia is the official operator of the international non-profit movement WorldSkills International, whose mission is to increase workforce training standards. Every two years, one of the 79 member countries hosts the international skills championship.
HSE and WorldSkills Russia have also agreed to carry out joint academic research and development.
‘Four years ago we launched the Measurements in Psychology and Education master’s programme, which is now among the best 100 programmes in the world. Now our task is to do something new with WorldSkills Russia that is interesting in terms of global competition,’ Isak Froumin notes.
‘Partnering with the Higher School of Economics opens up new opportunities for the professional growth of young professionals. Together we will be able to carry out an objective and timely assessment of the education programme and also change the vocational education system,’ Robert Urazov concludes.
