HSE University and Tinkoff Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement
HSE University and Tinkoff have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on the development of secondary education in Russia. The cooperation will be implemented as part of the ‘Developing intellectual competitions’ project within HSE University’s strategic development programme.
Under the agreement, Tinkoff will co-organise DANO, the national data analysis Olympiad for school students in grades 9 to 11, which was launched by HSE University last year. In the inaugural contest, over 3,000 of these students from 67 Russian regions took part in the initial selection stage. The winners received the opportunity to study in university-funded places at HSE University on data analysis, economics and IT programmes.
In addition, this year, Tinkoff will be general partner of the final stage of the All-Russian Economics Olympiad for School Students, which will be hosted by HSE University from April 10th to 16th.
‘HSE University’s Olympiads are gradually moving away from the ‘test’ format and are becoming more practice-oriented, unusual and lively. As a result, the role of business partners becomes ever more essential since they not only help to better organise the competitions and attract a wider audience, but also make a contents-related contribution in terms of the assignments and the work of expert juries’, said Danil Fedorovykh, Deputy Vice Rector of HSE University and Head of the Office for the Development of Intellectual Competitions.
HSE University’s cooperation with Tinkoff started in 2021 with the ‘Vysshaya Proba’ Olympiad in financial literacy, and the bank’s initiative in expanding this partnership means that it is beneficial not only for the university, but for the company as well, according to Danil Fedorovykh. This year, several projects, such as the All-Russian Economics Olympiad and DANO, will be conducted at a completely new level thanks to Tinkoff’s support. ‘I believe we have many more joint initiatives ahead’, he said.
The term of the agreement is five years.
Stanislav Bliznyuk, Chairman of the Management Board, Tinkoff
‘We have been cooperating with HSE University for a few years now. We have a joint course running at the Faculty of Computer Science, project and study groups at the Faculty of Mathematics, and Tinkoff Investment is a partner of the ‘Vysshaya Prova’ Olympiad in Financial Literacy. We can see that HSE University performs excellently at building relationships with talented school students: the university regularly launches new formats of Olympiads focused on team work and unconventional tasks that challenge the participants’ practical knowledge and skills. This is why it is particularly valuable for us to become the university’s long-term partner, and we hope to reinforce and expand our cooperation in the future’.
Nikita Anisimov, HSE Rector
There are 50,000 students at our university, and our areas of studies range from mathematics to natural science. We have everything to offer, and that’s why this year’s admissions campaign will have the motto ‘HSE University—Higher School of Everything’. I am grateful to the Tinkoff team for their support of our student competitions, which are another of our priorities’.
