Another 25% of students chose from among several Russian universities, and 7% would have wanted to study abroad.
When choosing where to study, doctoral students focused primarily on the reputation of the university (60%), prior experience studying at the university (47%), the advice of their academic advisors and teachers (40%), the reputation of the faculty or programme (38%), the opportunity to receive financial aid through grants and scholarships (28%), and prospects for eventual employment (24%).
